Converging Systems is a turnkey developer and manufacturer of customized interactive
kiosk systems called In-Store Presentation Systems (ISPS). These advanced
computer-based touchscreen systems provide high resolution (DVD), multi-language,
streaming interactive video information to consumers in retail environments. The
ISPS Systems have integrated a technology called Knowledge Management into their
design in order to better increase the sell-through of targeted products in
retail locations by effectively leveraging and deploying the best knowledge of
the sponsoring vendor.
The ISPS System is highly customized to target the
point-of-sale needs of a consumer ranging from providing project ideas, to aiding
in product selection and generating wish lists and buy lists. This multi-faceted
information delivery vehicle has been selected by Converging Systems' customers
to more efficiently drive end-user product sales. The advanced interactive
systems' features include its ability to drive interaction between a customer
and the seller, to share knowledge and to accurately answer questions around
the clock without fail.
To most honestly expect that a computer-based interactive system, sometimes known
as kiosks, will augment the efforts of a salesman in a store, it is paramount to
"load" that system with as much of the talent of the manufacturer of that product
as well as the salesperson who may be trying to sell that product locally. This
we call Knowledge Management.
In the initial stages of a business relationship
between Converging Systems and a potential partner, Converging Systems attempts
to understand as much about the partner and its products as possible. After
this knowledge has been gained, Converging Systems assists its partner in the
development of suitable multimedia materials to integrate into the ISPS System.
- Advanced/Reliable Technology
The Converging Systems team has been developing kiosk technology since 1987.
With such experience, Converging Systems has grown to know what makes many
point-of-sale video playback machines in the field so unreliable and how to
design and manufacture systems that really work! Rather than simply licensing
off-the-shelf components (such as kiosk software) and "integrating" a kiosk as
do so-many other "suppliers," Converging Systems has developed its own
hardware/software systems which have been successfully field tested and deployed
throughout the United States and in South America. Converging Systems qualifies
all components and stands behinds its products. Call any of our references for
more information.
- Proprietary/Customizable Design
The ISPS System is a computer-based system. This kiosk system can be customized
to the particular needs of the targeted customer with respect to the content and
operation of the multimedia material, the languages it supports, as well to the
design and look and feel of the cabinet and labels. In addition, a Use Tracking
Module monitors customer use of the system to help manage the system and to
continually refine the effectiveness of delivered message.
- Reliability/Safety
From the early days of kiosk systems, early endless loop videotape systems,
laserdisc and CDI-based systems have been plagued with intolerable down times.
Mechanical issues and the impact of dust and dirt have often contributed toward
the poor reliability of these solutions. Converging Systems has engineered its
systems with the primary design requirement of reliable up-time. In-fact, one
of the most important selling features of the ISPS System is its extremely high
measured up-time characteristic. Converging Systems also secures appropriate
agency certifications for its products to assure their safety and reliability
(and legality) in the market.
- Quantifiable Results
The rationalization for interactive kiosks is to drive sales. Quantitative
research has shown that after Converging Systems' ISPS Systems are installed
within retail environments, signficant increases in product sales are observed.
Customers also tend to select higher cost/higher gross margin products over lower
cost/lower-end products when accurate information is available at the point of sale.
- Quick Time-to-Market
Converging Systems can prototype a new interactive kiosk design in a very short
period of time. From video-production to digital document delivery and its rapid
prototyping capabilities, sample kiosks can be prepared in a remarkably short period of time.
